Subscription Migration Notice: UModeler X Transitioning to Free on April 15 (Delayed to April 22)

hello from the umodeler team we’re excited to share an important update for the umodeler community starting april 15 , umodeler x will become free , making it easier than ever for creators to start building directly inside unity if you would like to learn more about why umodeler x is becoming free and the vision behind this change, please read the full message from our ceo https //docs umodeler com/blog benefits for existing paid subscribers (personal / pro) migration timeline the migration will take place on april 15, 2026 migration policy to ensure that existing subscribers do not experience any loss of value remaining subscription periods will be converted into an equivalent picoberry ai subscription current plan new plan (picoberry ai) umodeler x personal picoberry starter umodeler x pro picoberry pro the remaining subscription duration will be rounded up to the nearest full month migrated subscriptions will not automatically renew additional benefits (pro & plus users only) updated on april 12th users who had an active umodeler x pro or a umodeler x plus purchase, as of march 12 april 15, 2026, 09 00 utc will receive permanent access to the pro template library (worth $500+) 1 month of picoberry starter plan (added on april 12th) access instructions will be provided at a later date purchases made after april 15, 2026 will still include the pro template library, but the picoberry starter plan will not be included access instructions will be provided at a later date umodeler x changes (effective april 15, 2026) product restructuring personal and pro plans will be merged into a single product umodeler x key changes umodeler x will become free it will support offline usage login will no longer be required minimal data collection will be implemented for service improvement purposes only umodeler x plus continues to be available on the unity asset store will receive ongoing updates with the latest features umodeler (classic) no changes continues to be sold on the unity asset store website transition the umodeler website will transition from a saas platform to a product focused landing page changes include removal of login, profile, and payment systems user account management will be handled through picoberry umodeler x hub as login is no longer required, the umodeler x hub will be discontinued frequently asked questions (faq) 1\ when does the transition to free umodeler x take effect? the transition will take place on april 15, 2026 any announcements stating “starting today” refer to availability updates, but the full migration and policy changes are officially applied on april 15 2\ what happens to my existing umodeler x subscription? your existing subscription will be converted into a picoberry ai subscription personal → starter pro → pro additionally remaining time will be rounded up to the nearest full month the new subscription will not auto renew 3\ will existing users lose any value after the transition? no we explicitly designed the migration to prevent value loss remaining time is rounded up (not prorated down) additional benefits are provided for pro users (see below) 4\ are there any additional benefits for pro/plus users? yes if you had either an active umodeler x pro subscription , or purchased umodeler x plus as of march 12, 09 00 utc , you will receive permanent access to the template library 5\ what data is collected in the free version? we collect minimal usage data strictly for service improvement purposes includes (high level) feature usage patterns performance and error logs basic environment information (e g , unity version) does not include personal identifiable information (beyond what is strictly necessary) sensitive project content 6\ does umodeler x access or upload my project files? no your project files are not uploaded or shared externally there is no automatic extraction or transmission of asset data the data collection is limited to usage analytics , not content access 7\ is my project at risk of being leaked? no there is no mechanism that transmits your project files or assets , so your work is not exposed through umodeler x usage from a security standpoint no file level access no external storage of project content no sharing with third parties 8\ why is data collection required in a free product? the free model replaces subscription revenue with a product improvement loop data collection allows us to improve modeling workflows identify bugs and performance issues prioritize features based on real usage this is intentionally scoped to be minimal and non intrusive 9\ do i still need to upgrade to pro if my game generates over $200,000? no with umodeler x becoming free there is no revenue based restriction no mandatory upgrade tied to game earnings paid offerings (e g , umodeler x plus) are feature based, not revenue gated 10\ what happens to umodeler x plus and umodeler (classic)? they remain unchanged umodeler x plus continues as a paid product on the unity asset store receives latest features and updates umodeler (classic) no changes continues to be sold as is 11\ will i still need to log in to use umodeler x? no login is no longer required umodeler x can be used offline as a result the umodeler x hub will be discontinued account related features move to picoberry 12\ why remove login while still collecting data?
